LETTERS TO THE WEBMASTER
Just a brief note to you folks. Me, the family and
friends certainly enjoyed your Festival celebrations. Even though it
rained, we totally enjoyed every moment of it. Even my American College
friends saw a proud, smart but still serious side of the Guyanese
culture, history and talents. As we see around us, it is so easy for one
culture to paint another with a broad brush as illiterate, non-cultured
and ignorant. At Folk Festival, everyone had a different view. Thank you
for that. I guess it took a lot of time, energy, resources and
imagination to bring this entire event together, but in the end it was
well done.

I would like to congratulate the organizers of the
Guyana Folk Festival. I was there and truly thought it was absolutely
fantastic. I wish it did not rain, but despite the rain I enjoyed it
very much. I know it must have been a lot of hard work and I would like
to thank all of you and hope we have a Folk Festival III.
Sincerely Jamela Edoo
Congrats to all of you for the work you did. I can
tell you the honorees and their relatives were very gratified by the
honor. Very often, we don’t tell our own, “you did good wuk buddy:
Thanks.”
