On every measure, Guyana Folk Festival 2007 was a success.  We had more attendees to all of our events, including the new Literary Hang.  Many of the regular attendees have declared Guyana Folk Festival 2007 as the best ever.  These accolades are testimony to your unselfish support.

         Guyana Folk Festival 2007 attracted attendees from Brazil, Canada, Venezuela, the United Kingdom, and across the United States.  One group of performers at Family Fun Day were from Ghana.  Clearly, Guyana Folk Festival is continuing to be recognized as the premier Guyanese summer festival in New York.  Again, you must be thanked for your support in getting us to this good place.

Among our special guests for Guyana Folk Festival 2007 was His Excellency, the Honorable Bharrat Jagdeo, the President of Guyana.  In his address to the Family Fun Day crowd, he extended an invitation to diaspora to come to Guyana for Carifesta 2008. He also invited the organizers of the Guyana Folk Festival to contribute to the organization of Carifesta 2008

        The organizers of Guyana Folk Festival have already started to work on Guyana Festival 2008 and look forward to your ongoing support.  With your unselfish and generous support we will make Guyana Folk Festival 2008 even better and hopefully, with the use of the new communication technologies, we will also be able to bring a bit of Carifesta 2008 to you.
